A·IQ Asset & Operations Management | Criticality

Not all assets are equal. Score them accordingly.

Mean-time-between-failure means nothing if the asset is not critical. Nexus Criticality scores every asset on mission-impact, redundancy, and replacement difficulty then propagates that scoring into PM frequency, work-order priority, and capital planning.

02 / Capabilities

What it does.

Four scoring dimensions blend into one criticality score per asset.

Mission

Mission-impact.

What breaks if this asset fails? Tenant comfort, life safety, production line, or just convenience? Per-site weighting.

Redundancy

Redundancy.

Is there an N+1 backup? Auto-failover? Or is this a single point of failure? Reduces effective criticality where redundancy exists.

Replacement

Replacement difficulty.

Lead time, install complexity, regulatory hurdles, and cost. A long-lead-time asset gets higher criticality even if redundant.

Trend

Condition trend.

A degrading asset gets a temporary criticality bump until repaired. Auto-propagates into work-order priority.

03 / In Practice

How criticality drives the rest.

A criticality-9 chiller gets monthly PMs, vibration monitoring, and same-day SLA on corrective work. A criticality-3 lobby fan coil gets quarterly PMs and best-effort dispatch. Criticality is the lever that aligns PM spend, vendor contracts, and capital prioritization.

Common Questions.

Engineer and operator questions on this capability.

01

Do we have to score every asset manually?

No. Nexus seeds criticality from asset type and location, then refines with your inputs.

02

Can criticality change?

Yes every reclassification is logged. Site reorganizations, lease changes, and process line changes all warrant rescoring.

03

How does this affect PM cadence?

Configurable. Most clients tier PM frequency by criticality bands so high-crit assets get more attention without manually editing every PM.

04

Can we score against multiple frameworks?

Yes. Score vs. mission-readiness for federal, vs. tenant-impact for commercial, vs. line-uptime for industrial.
